The Santa Rosa County (FL) Health Department is looking for a public health dentist to help establish a new dental clinic and provide general preventive services for Medicaid-eligible children in our community who are presently unable to receive dental care.
The dentist will work at a new satellite clinic in our Midway facility, which is 8 miles east of Gulf Breeze and 6 miles west of Navarre on the Emerald Coast of Florida. The clinic will include three operatories, all new equipment, and a qualified staff (two assistants, a part-time hygienist, and a front desk clerk).
The clinic is located in a beautiful area filled with pristine beaches in nearby Navarre and Pensacola, and it is only minutes from shopping, dining, restaurants, and entertainment in Destin, Fort Walton Beach, and Pensacola. This area enjoys a low cost of living compared to most of Florida, and there are many thriving neighborhoods with affordable housing options. In addition, the schools in Santa Rosa County were recently ranked #1 among Florida counties for scores on the Florida counties for scores on the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test (FCAT), and all of the schools in this area are "A" rated.

The starting salary is negotiable, but should begin in the $110,000 - $120,000 range. A Florida license is preferred, but it is possible for an out-of-state dentist to obtain licensure to work in a public health setting without having to take the Florida Board exam.
